The Psalms Translated and Explained is unavailable, but you can change that!

In this volume, Joseph Addison Alexander gives a brief history and outline of each of the 150 Psalms in the Bible, including commentary and Scriptural cross-references. A thorough study of the Psalms, it provides a great overview to this much-loved Old Testament book of the Bible.

The first inscription was particularly necessary here, to shew that the psalm was designed for permanent and public use, since it might otherwise have been regarded as expressive of mere personal emotions. It has reference to the one great crime of David’s life, noted as such in the inspired history itself (1 Kings 15:5), and involving the guilt of both adultery and murder. See 2 Sam. 11 and 12. The significant repetition of the phrase came unto in ver 2 is lost in the English and most other versions.
